Seems relatively safe to talk about this now, seeing as less than 48 hours from now I’ll be on the road driving down to Texas.
Soo I’ll be working at Red Fly Studio down there in Austin, as an artist on both Mushroom Men (for Nintendo Wii) and Ghostbusters (for Wii as well). I’m very excited as everything I’ve read about the studio through interviews, previews of Mushroom Men, and the team members has led me to believe it’s the kind of place I’d love to be a member of. I’ll be working under the Art Director, Kris Taylor, whom I feel I can learn a ton of things from which leaves me nothing shor tof ecstatic.
I have a place lined up out there now (well…90%, just need the background check to go through), Google Earth has me feeling like I have a basic handle of the place, and all is good. I keep getting these little flashbacks of feelings from the Marine Corps, like I’m going off on a deployment again or something like that…they pass with relative ease though – thankfully – which lets me just focus on what has to get done and spending time with the family.
Going to take my kids all over the place tomorrow, end with a bang so to speak, then wrap it up with dinner at my folk’s place and crashing early. Plan to hit the road by 3AM so I can make it to Oaklahoma City, OK before the sun sets and I get all sleepy on the road.
